About Ky Baby Knits
My name is Lindsay Baker, and I live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. By my side is my wonderful husband, Ian, and our four kids: Jackson, Kylie, Willow, and Annabelle.
My husband and I both grew up here in Corvallis Oregon and ran in the same circles as teens and young adults. We had our son Jackson in 1998, while we were both just getting ready to go to college. Then in 2004 Kylie came along, and just 19 months later we were blessed with our twin daughters, Willow and Annabelle. As you might guess, this slowed down the college train just a bit. However, Ian is graduating in June with a B.S. in Radiation Health Physics and already has a job waiting in the beautiful Puget Sound area.
My business was founded in 2005 when I wanted to knit longies to go over my daughter Kylie's cloth diapers. She was the inspiration that led me to learn to knit and dye my own yarn. Even as recently as 2005 there weren't a lot of creative independent yarn dyers selling their work yet. Luckily for me, this meant I "had" to jump in and learn to dye my own! I named my business after my "Ky Baby" (Kylie) since if it wasn't for her, I may have never picked up those knitting needles!
I've just recently begun designing and writing knitting patterns as well. This has been a new and fun challenge that I hope to continue.
I am so thankful and grateful that I was inspired to make fiber arts a huge part of my life. It is a creative outlet that gives me a sense of purpose outside of my regular (and much loved!) roles of "Mother" and "Wife".
Purchases
Please note that the Hyena Cart E-commerce system is a commitment based system. It is not a traditional shopping cart. Clicking the "buy" button indicates a commitment to buy, and entering in a lottery or bidding on an auction indicates intent to pay the final price. If you purchase an item without intending to, please contact me immediately so that I can reverse the transaction. Otherwise, payment is expected at the time of purchase. Items will be restocked if payment is not accepted within 2 hours. Any overpayment you may make will be refunded to you promptly. This allows us to keep Hyena Cart working smoothly as it was intended. Please note that you may have your account blocked for non-payment. If you attempt a purchase and find that you are unable to make it, please contact me at kybabyknits@gmail.com and I will see what I can do about resolving the situation.
Return Policy
I will provide returns on a case by case basis on unwashed and unused products within 30 days from time of purchase. I only take returns from the original purchaser. Shipping will not be refunded unless there is a product defect.
Forms of payment
All prices are in US dollars. I accept postal money orders & all forms paypal. E-checks must clear with my bank prior to shipping your order. I will only ship to the address on the paypal receipt, and it must be a confirmed address. I require a non-refundable deposit at the time of checkout and the remaining balance is due before I begin knitting. Please allow 2-6 weeks for completion of custom orders unless otherwise noted. Most items can be completed in the 2 week time frame. If I must wait for yarn ordered by me, or sent in by you the 6 week time frame may apply.
Customer Service
I answer emails within 24 hours. If you have not heard back from me, please feel free to email me again. I keep a custom order status page here on my Hyena Cart. You can also e-mail me anytime with individual questions. I will e-mail you a picture of your item prior to it being shipped, and also give you a estimated shipping date at that time.
Shipping
Domestic shipping is $3.50 for First Class and $4.60 for Priority for MOST orders. If you have ordered more than one item, the shipping amount may be more and I will invoice you for that amount. DC is always included and insurance is optional. I cannot be responsible for items once they leave my hands. International customer, please contact me for a shipping quote.<p>
I will only ship to the address on the paypal receipt, and it must be a confirmed address.
